Green finance

Syscap continually strives to provide public sector organisations with more effective ways to achieve their ICT goals.

In keeping with our strong ethical and market leading approach to finance within the public sector, Syscap have produced green financing. Green finance offsets the whole life carbon emissions of ICT through co2balance's African Energy Efficient School Oven Project, replacing African schools' inefficient open fires with energy saving ones.

Benefits of the project include:

Whole life equipment offsetting: The carbon produced in the manufacture and running of the equipment over the duration of the agreement is calculated.
Ease of implementation: The cost of offsetting the carbon is included in the initial administration fee of the financing and the donations are made on the school's behalf once the agreement is activated.
Teacher resources on climate change: The co2balance schools' website will be made available to all participants in the green finance programme. The website contains information on global warming, games and promotional material.
PDF certificates stating the involvement in the project: Certificates will be made available to display throughout reception areas promoting the schools contribution to the scheme.
GPS co-ordinates of the Schools in Africa being helped by the project: The full details and location of every school in Africa helped will be made available to the school.
Information on Eco-Schools and how to apply for Eco Awards: Carbon Offset schemes are recognised by the Eco Schools initiative and can be used as a starting point to apply for the Eco School Awards
