Syscap Limited, the UK’s leading independent IT finance provider, has appointed Geoff Kontzle to head its successful Public Sector department. Responsible for championing the increased use of IT finance among local and central government organisations as well as within the education and medical sectors, Kontzle will also be expected to grow Syscap’s business among the charity and housing association sectors. With over 25 years’ experience in the leasing and asset finance industry, Kontzle joins Syscap from Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank, where he has headed the Public Sector team for the past two years. Prior to that, he was Director of Leasing and Asset Finance at the Capita Group. Kontzle currently chairs the Finance & Leasing Association Local Government Forum, driving changes throughout the government and public sector so that local and education authorities can take better advantage of asset finance and leasing products and services. “I have known Syscap for several years and have always respected the way it handles its business operations,” says Kontzle. “Syscap is a growing business with an exciting future. It already has a strong reputation within the public sector community - a reputation that I look forward to building on as we strengthen our position in existing public sector areas and expand into new ones.” “With the Government’s commitment to personalised learning within the education sector, and the publication of its second comprehensive spending review - expected to call for greater efficiency through more coherent IT investment strategies - this is an exciting time for those involved in public sector technology,” says Philip White, CEO of Syscap. “Geoff is not only an experienced leader within the finance and leasing industry,” adds White, “he is also a respected commentator and spokesperson for public sector IT issues, challenging the status quo and helping to create a more widespread and equitable provision of IT among public sector organisations. I am delighted that he has decided to join Syscap, knowing that he will prove an inspiring and motivational leader and a key player in our continued growth in the Public Sector.” |
