14 July 2010 Further strengthening of senior management as Syscap looks to growth Syscap, the leading independent finance provider, has appointed John Allbrook, the former CEO of AIM listed GoIndustry – DoveBid plc as its Executive Chairman. John Allbrook, who spent five years at GoIndustry, oversaw its transformation into the world’s leading online provider of asset sales and services. John led the company through its successful listing on AIM and the subsequent acquisition of its largest international competitor, DoveBid, for $27m plus shares in January 2008. Before joining GoIndustry John spent most of his career within the leasing industry, including nine years in various senior leadership positions at GE Capital, where he was instrumental in securing GE’s global program with Sun Microsystems and subsequently became the Managing Director EMEA of Sun Microsystems Finance. Prior to that John enjoyed a successful period with Dana Commercial Credit, during which time the revenues of the company grew dramatically thanks to its strong vendor programmes with Apple, Compaq and Mercury Communications. Philip White, Chief Executive of Syscap, says that John Allbrook’s appointment is the latest stage in Syscap’s plan to add senior management talent to enable the company to take full advantage of improving market conditions. Last year Fred Yue joined Syscap as Finance Director from Lloyds Banking Group where he was interim Finance Director of Corporate Banking and Phil Ross joined as Chief Operating Officer from Investec Asset Finance Plc where he was Managing Director. Philip White says: “We are delighted that John is joining us at this time. He has an impressive track record in the industry which will be invaluable to Syscap as we seek to grow the company in the months and years ahead.” “We have made significant operational improvements to the way our business operates over the last year and much of that can be attributed to the excellent contributions from Fred and Phil. John’s arrival brings additional strategic skills and direct relevant market experience to our Board as we seek to take advantage of the current market conditions and grow this business faster.” John Allbrook adds: “I have known Syscap since they started in 1990 and have admired the way the company has developed over the years. I am delighted to be joining the team here at this exciting time as we embark on a new period of expansion that will take Syscap to the next level.” See coverage of this press release below: |
