The Syscap Foundation, which raises money for organisations that bring technology to children, has now become a registered charity (number 1124714). Syscap’s Jason Layland has been elected as Chairman of The Foundation, which has already raised over £10,000 this year. Last year, the charity donated £4,000 to its chosen organisations, £3,000 of which went to Express Link-Up.

Funds for The Foundation are raised through Syscap events, contributions from Syscap partners and by employees choosing to support the foundation when taking part in a sponsored event. Most recently, Chief Operations Officer and Director at Syscap, Sean Read ran in the ‘Run to the Beat’ half marathon in London, raising almost £2000 partly in sponsorship and also from a generous donation by ADA.

The principal beneficiary of the Syscap Foundation is Express Link-Up, which aims to provide all children and young people who are sick, disabled or underprivileged with access to ICT, empowering them to maintain contact with their mainstream schools, families and friends, and thus help them to continue their education, develop key life skills and make their hospital stay more fun. Last year, The Foundation also donated funds to Chaney Heritage, Cerebra, Africare and Lennox Children Cancer Fund.

Foundation Chairman, Jason Layland says: “This year we are looking forward to raising record amounts of money for our chosen charities, and the fundraising efforts of staff and Syscap partners so far have been exceptional. As Chairman, I hope to establish closer ties with our main charity, Express Link-up, enabling Syscap to provide practical support as well as financial help to children and their carers.”
