The Syscap Foundation
Helping children communicate, learn and play
As a company that helps businesses access the IT they need, Syscap understands the power of technology to improve the way we live and work. The Syscap Foundation aims to extend these benefits to sick and disadvantaged children.
Founded in April 2007, the Syscap Foundation raises money for charities that bring technology to children. In this way, we can help children who wouldn’t otherwise be able to access ICT to communicate, learn and play without boundaries.
Foundation chairman, Robert Eggleston, says, “Lots of people at Syscap have children. Most of us are fortunate to have families that are healthy, but we’re only too aware that many others are not so lucky. We wanted to support charities that use technology to help children under difficult circumstances, so they can continue their education, make friends, have fun and expand their horizons.”
Funds are raised through Syscap events, contributions from Syscap partners and by employees choosing to support the foundation when taking part in a sponsored event.
The foundation’s patron is Lord Mitchell.
Chosen charities
Of the money raised throughout this year, 75% goes to Express Link Up, a charity that brings ICT to children that are hospitalised, housebound or underprivileged around the world.
The other 25% goes to a number of similar charities in the UK and abroad.

“Children are our future. If they learn to communicate, then we can maybe look forward to a world with better understanding of each other’s cultures, religions and lives.”
